There are many varieties of color for the Miniature Schnauzer Breed.
The three standard colors of this breed are Black, Black/Silver, and Salt/Pepper. They are the three colors recongized by AKC standards. These colors are often referred to as the only "recognized" colors of the breed which meet breed standards for showing.
However, there are alternate/non-standard colors as well for the miniature schnauzer breed. The alternate colors are liver (recessive to black), liver/tan (recessive to black/silver), liver/pepper (recessive to salt/pepper), white with a black nose and it's recessive is white with a liver nose. Liver can also be referred to as chocolate or brown.
